A Proposal Story
Sigrid Moe: Mike and I were both raised in Nelson but our paths never really crossed until 2007. We started dating in March of that year and, six months later we decided to spend a romantic evening at a camp spot we know on Kootenay Lake between Kaslo and Ainsworth.
Mike Kinrade: I brought Baileys and bacon.
SM: We really had a connection that night and I remember saying, “I feel like I could spend the rest of my life with you.” Mike was silent for a minute and then suddenly he got down on one knee and said, “Alright, that’s it. Will you marry me?”
MK: We weren’t drunk or anything – it was just this amazing spontaneous moment.
